Music Man Guitars

If you are in the market for a new bass or electric guitar that not only has a storied history full of ups and downs, but has been played by some of the most famous hands in the music world, you should be looking at music man guitars. While the company itself got its start building amps back in the 50s and 60s it was not until the 70s and 80s that a rebirth of the brand name began to occur under the steering of Ernie Ball. In 1985 he began to rack up an amazing string of successes by creating a signature line of basses and guitars endorsed by the top guitarists of the time such as Eddie Van Halen, Albert Lee, Bongo and John Petrucci. By creating guitars built for players that featured quick change pickups, Teflon coated trussrods and necks that featured 5 and 6 bolt assembly amongst other features, these guitars took the market by storm and were soon outselling most of the other leading brands. In 1996 Music Man Guitars started a Battle of the Bands competition to put the spotlight on the huge numbers of unsigned talented guitarists that were playing the bars and clubs trying to scratch out a living.

Success followed success and in 2003 they introduced the Music Man Bongo Bass that set the world on its ear. With a 24 fret finger board and a 4 ban 18V active EQ and a range of pickups in both left and right hand versions, the Bongo soon became the bass to own. This was followed by the introduction by Music Man Guitars in 2008 of the Bongo 6 the first 6 string bass which is played by John Myung of Dream Theater. Never one to sit on their laurels they followed this with the Big Al bass that is based on the original Albert Lee guitar and features the 18V 4 band EQ and active/passive switching along with series/parallel pickup wiring. From the minute you pick up one of these beautiful Music Man Guitars and start creating your own beat, you will be hooked.

These are considered to be among the finest bass guitars in the world and can be seen in the hands of players such as Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Ross Valory of Journey, cliff Williams of AC/DC and John Deacon of Queen to name but a few, you will always be in good company when you play one of these magnificent guitars.
